The leaves are doing that thing again. A short walk ends with three leaves we thought were perfect, seven pinecones of different sizes and a very good stick (how come it is THIS straight?).
October makes collectors out of us. Nobody is supposed to walk past those acorns with pretty hats and not pick them up. We would all collectively understand.
And so we come home after a successful foraging session, we press the crunchy leaves between pages of heavy books. We draw them in our sketchbooks, or bring them home to sit on our desks. Little pieces of the season, keeping us company, reminding us that the atmosphere has changed, and we're all preparing to calm down from the business of summer.
Put on your favorite socks, and come look around with me. The woods are calling us again, and this time we’ll go slowly, because there’s a lot to see. :-)
